Various drugs seized from apartment in 'student housing' building

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they arrested a man after an investigation resulted in various drugs seized from his apartment in a "student housing" building.

The Lackawanna County District Attorney Brian J. Gallagher stated that 51-year-old Robert M. Milazzo was arrested after a search warrant was served at his apartment in the 300 block of Taylor Avenue in Scranton.

Police say Milazzo's apartment is located in the basement of a building advertised as "student housing."

The search warrant resulted in the following drugs seized;

175 grams of crystal methamphetamine

7 grams of cocaine

15 diazepam pills

The total street value of the drugs was more than $10,000.

"The presence of this quantity of narcotics in proximity to a college campus and students is a significant concern, and we will continue to work with law enforcement partners, prioritizing the prevention of illicit narcotics from entering the city," stated DA Gallagher.

Milazzo has been charged with possession with intent to deliver drugs and other related offenses. He faces a penalty of 25 years in prison plus a $227,500 fine.
