State police take over Katlyn Harp investigation

HEMLOCK TOWNSHIP, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State Police are investigating the disappearance of a Columbia County woman.

33-year-old Katlyn Harp from Hemlock Township went missing last Thursday. She was last seen at her home near Bloomsburg.

Hemlock Township Police initially began the investigation, but the State Police Criminal Unit from the Bloomsburg Barracks took over the investigation on Sunday.

Harp's family and friends have taken to social media to get the word out about her disappearance. They say it's not like her to not communicate with them and simply go silent.

The disappearance of a Columbia County woman is now the focus of a state police investigation.

Family members say she would not just walk away from her home and her life without contacting someone in her family.

They just want answers.

According to state police, Harp was last seen at her home on Fairview Drive in Hemlock Township a 7:30 pm last Thursday June 19.

Her home is located between Bloomsburg and Millville near Route 42.

We went to the home to try and speak with her husband, but no one answered the door.

We did see a state police cruiser traveling slowly on Fairview Drive. What, if anything, the trooper was doing in the area is not yet known.

A state police spokesperson tells me that they will not make any comment on the investigation, only to say, it is a very active investigation.

The I-Team has also confirmed that the family was planning a search for Harp Thursday, but called it off to let the state police handle any searches.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact PSP Bloomsburg at 570-387-4701, call PSP Tips Toll Free at 1-800-472-8477, or submit a tip online.
