Man apprehended after fleeing from Scranton police

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say a Scranton man has been apprehended after fleeing from police over several days.

On Saturday, the Scranton Police Department said they apprehended a wanted suspect, 24-year-old Eddie Brent from Scranton, after a brief foot pursuit on the 1700 block of North Keyser Avenue.

Police say Brent was wanted in relation to an incident involving the assault of a Scranton Police Officer.

Brent had fled from police over the past couple of days on two separate instances while using a stolen vehicle, according to officials.

On Saturday, authorities say Brent was seen in the area of the 1700 block of North Keyser Avenue by Scranton Police Patrol Officers and was followed to a nearby gas station.

According to police, Brent then left the stolen vehicle and resisted arrest while fleeing on foot.

Officials added that Brent is also a suspect in multiple ongoing investigations.

Any further information will be released when additional criminal charges are filed, according to Scranton Police.
