Touching trucks of many kinds in Luzerne County

EDWARDSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Trucks of many kinds took up space on Saturday at a Luzerne County Shopping Center. Fire trucks, a garbage truck, and a Humvee were on display for touching, looking, and exploring.

Long Live Playtime, an inclusive children's development facility located in the Gateway Shopping Center in Edwardsville, welcomed children and families to a Touch-a-Truck event.

It was to celebrate nearly a year in business.

"We really wanted to do something to give back to the community, a free event, and we're very focused on community, so we thought Touch-a-Truck would be a great event to bring everyone together," said Long Live Playtime Owner Marisa Schmidt.

"We always visit Long Live Playtime so we wanted to bring our bus out, represent STA cause we love all the children, and let em see what it's like to be on a school bus, I've actually met a lot of parents who said their children are gonna be starting school in September, and they were excited when they heard that a bus would be here," Penny Townes with Student Transportation of America explained.

The owner of Long Live Playtime says she hopes to hold more community events as she grows her business.
