HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local pet groomer is stepping up to help find more cats a forever home. All Paws Salon in Hazleton hosted an Adopt-A-Cat event on Sunday at their South Church Street location.
Visitors could learn about adopting a cat, or even volunteering to provide a foster home for one before a pet finds a loving home.

Organizers planned the event to coincide with National Adopt A Cat Month.
A dozen kittens and older cats were made available through some local animal shelters from Luzerne and Schuylkill counties.
"A lot of these local places are on Facebook and that's where people see them and hear about them but I think it's nice for people to come and actually get to see the cats. Maybe, it will give them a better chance of getting adopted," All Paws Salon Owner and Groomer Jessica Balliet said.
The next step for these adoptable cats is for their potential pet parents to be pre-approved to complete the cat adoption.
