Husband charged in death of Katlyn Harp

COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police arrested a man on Sunday in the death of his wife, Katlyn Harp.

The arrest follows days of an intense police investigation in Columbia County.

Troopers explain that 37-year-old Vincent Lloyd Harp from Bloomsburg was taken into custody without incident and is facing criminal homicide and related charges in connection with the death of his wife, 33-year-old Katlyn Harp.

Authorities say Mr. Harp was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Brenda Hess, denied bail, and was sent to the Columbia County Correctional Facility.

State police extended their gratitude to the community for sending tips through social media and calls made to 911.

On Sunday evening, the Columbia County Coroner's Office also released information regarding the investigation.

Coroner Jeremy R. Reese explains that he was called to a wooded area on Harp Lane in Montour Township for a death investigation.

State police take over Katlyn Harp investigation

After arriving on scene and speaking with state police, Coroner Reese identified the remains found as Katlyn Harp on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

Officials say the cause of death is pending the forensic autopsy scheduled for Monday, June 30.

Coroner Reese says while the manner of death is also pending further investigation, evidence and observations at the scene indicate the manner of death to be apparent homicide.

The Coroner’s Office extended its condolences to the friends and family of Katlyn Harp and said that no further information will be released until Monday afternoon.
