JACKSON TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been sentenced to prison after he admitted to shooting and killing his brother.
John Kilpatrick, 35, previously pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for shooting his brother, 30-year-old Kevin Kilpatrick, at their home on Chase Road in Jackson Township in August 2023.

Court officials state Kilpatrick has been sentenced to 42-84 months minus over 400 days he has served in prison since his arrest.
As stated in the criminal complaint, Kilpatrick claimed he and his brother were arguing, his brother allegedly lunged at him, John grabbed a gun that was nearby, and shot at his brother twice, hitting him at least once.
