Man injured after jumping from window during fire

LOCK HAVEN, CLINTON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Lock Haven Fire Department says that one man was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries after jumping out a second floor window because of a Friday night fire.

Officials say that they were called just before 9:00 p.m. for a reported structure fire on the unit block of Linden Street.

When arriving on-scene, crews found fire and smoke showing from the second floor of the single-family home.

Lock Haven Fire Department says that a second-alarm was struck due to this, bringing in additional manpower from surrounding Dunnstown, Avis, and Jersey Shore fire departments.

Crews battling house and garage fire

Authorities say that a man also jumped from a second-floor window before fire crews and EMS got on-scene, but he was treated by Lock haven EMS before being transported by Lock Haven UPMC Hospital with minor injuries.

Fire crews searched the house for any other people inside, confirmed non one else was home at the time of the fire.

The fire was under control in just under 20 minutes, and first responders performed an extensive amount of overhaul to prevent the fire from rekindling, according to a post made by the department.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, despite investigation.

Lock Haven Fire Department states that the property sustained an estimated $40,000 in damages with a neighboring property also sustaining around $8,000.
