ARCHBALD, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Multiple fire departments were called to a home in Archbald after a bedroom fire started Saturday afternoon.
According to Archbald Police Chief Tim Trently, crews were called to the 500 block of Gaughan Court for a reported structure fire when a family noticed smoke coming from their bedroom just after 1:30 p.m.
Trently says police arrived first, attempting to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher, but were unable to put the fire out.
The fire department then arrived on-scene, and extra manpower was requested due to the hot weather.

No one was injured and two cats were recovered, according to Trently.
Trently says the fire was knocked down in around 10 minutes, but the house did suffer minor smoke and water damage.
Officials say the fire appears to be electrical, but they are waiting on a fire marshal to determine the exact cause.
The house is still inhabitable.
