Road now open after head-on crash in Pottsville

POTTSVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A roadway was shut down and an unknown number of people were injured after a reported head-on crash in Schuylkill County.

The Schuylkill County Communications Center told 28/22 News on Tuesday crews were called to the 600 block of Gordon Nagle Trail, or State Route 901, in Pottsville just before 4:50 p.m. for a reported head-on crash.

Authorities say there were injuries, but could not say how many or their severity, and all those injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

8 sent to hospital after multi-vehicle crash

The Pottsville City Fire Department led the response, and State Police from Schuylkill Haven were also on scene, officials explained.

Authorities say the roadway reopened at about 6:30 p.m.
