Woman run over at McDonald's parking lot, man charged

KELLY TWP., UNION COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is facing attempted homicide charges after state police say he ran a woman over with his vehicle in a McDonald's parking lot.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on July 10, around 7:50 a.m., troopers were called to West Branch Highway in Kelly Township, Union County, for a woman hit by a vehicle.

On the scene, police said they learned two women had an altercation with a man identified as Caleb Daniels, 21, of Montoursville.

Through further investigation, troopers stated that Daniels and the two women went to McDonald's, and while there, one of the women ended her relationship with him. Daniels then tried to steal the woman's wallet and attempted to leave in his car, troopers said.

The women chased after him when Daniels put his car in reverse and ran over one of the women, stated PSP. After he ran the victim over with his car, he put it in drive, moved forward, then got out of his car and fled the scene, police said.

The victim was flown to Geisinger Medical Center, and her current condition is unknown.

Daniels has been charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, and other related offenses. He remains in the Union County Prison on a $400,000 cash bail.
