HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A warrant has officially been issued for a man who police say pistol-whipped a pregnant woman in the middle of the street and dragged her inside an apartment.
Hazleton City Police have filed an arrest warrant for Rodelfy Liriano Corniel on the charge of Simple Assault after police say he physically attacked another person.
Police say they responded to the area of 550 Alter Street just before 11:00 a.m. on July 11 for a report of a man attacking another person.
Two arrested after stabbing in Scranton
Hazleton City Police say Corniel then fled the scene with the pistol, before police could block off a two-block radius near Alter and Second streets in Hazleton.
The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.
Hazleton City Police are asking for anyone with information on the whereabouts of Corniel to contact 911 or submit a tip through their Crimewatch page.
