Woman arrested after allegedly hitting man with bottle

LAUREL RUN, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Luzerne County woman was arrested and charged after she allegedly hit a man over the head with a glass bottle Saturday night, according to state police.

Police say that 22-year-old Mackenzie Spock from Plains was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and Harassment among other charged

In a release, troopers say that they responded just after 9:30 p.m. along with Wilkes-Barre Township Police to East Northampton Street for a report of a large fight at the Giants Despair Hillclimb.

After investigation, it was determined that Spock hit a 24-year-old man from Hanover Township over the head with a glass bottle that resulted in serious injuries to his head, back, and left arm.

The man was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley for treatment.

State police say that Spock also refused multiple lawful commands and resisted arrest while in custody.

It is unclear what prompted the fight.

Spock was unable to post bail set at $5,000, according to court documents and her preliminary hearing is set for July 28.
