(WBRE/WYOU) — Raging waters from overnight rain are causing problems in several areas of central Pennsylvania.
Glen Mawr in Lycoming County was evacuated early Monday morning due to the quickly rising waters.
Sections of Muncy Creek near Beech Glen, Sullivan County, can be seen running over the roadway, with water approaching multiple homes. Muncy Creek reportedly rose 10 feet in 3-4 hours.
Several fields of crops were destroyed. Crews have been working all day to clean up tree branches and remove the water. Most of the damage to homeowners is in the garage or basement.
Roads closures due to flooding in central Pa.
"Worst we've ever seen around here. Our house, two garages were surrounded. Right up the road, it washed out the road. Landscape damages, like where it was in the back of the creek. It ate the yard out quite a bit. We got about 7 or 8 inches in our garage. Now, it's just all mud," explained Rob Beilman, homeowner.
Flood alerts are in effect for multiple regions of northeastern and central Pennsylvania.
