Road closures due to flooding in central Pa.

(WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT reports that various roadways are currently being impacted due to flooding across the state Monday afternoon.

Drivers in north central Pennsylvania are advised that the following roads are closed or have lane restrictions due to flooding, downed trees, or utilities.

Columbia

Route 1025 (Summer Hill Road) between Dairy Road/Twin Church Road and Water Dam Road in Briar Creek Township.

Lycoming

Route 220 between Route 405 in Hughesville Borough, Lycoming County, and Route 42 in Laporte Township, Sullivan County.

Route 220 Closed in Sullivan and Lycoming Counties

Route 2085 (Edkin Hill Road) between Route 220 in Penn Township and Edkin Hill Road(Route 3001) in Shrewsbury Township, Sullivan County.

Route 2083 (Deer Lake Road) between Route 220 and Ogdonia Road (Route 3005) in Shrewsbury Township.

Route 42 between Route 220 in Davidson Township, Sullivan County, and Route 239 in Franklin Township, Lycoming County.

Route 4018 (Dushore Overton Road) at the intersection of South Black Creek Road in Forks Township.

PennDOT cautions drivers not to drive through flooded roadways. They say it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car.

Anyone who drives around barriers can face penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue those who disregard traffic control signs.
