PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) – In celebration of National Hot Dog Day, Sheetz announced that it will be giving away two free hot dogs to customers.
The special offer will be available on National Hot Dog Day, Wednesday, July 16, through Tuesday, July 22.
Customers must purchase a minimum of 10 gallons of any fuel grade in a single transaction to redeem the offer, which will be available at all locations that offer fuel. The offer excludes extras and add-ons to the hot dogs and can be found under the OFFERZ tab on the Sheetz app.

National Hot Dog Day was established in the early 1990s by the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC). The day is meant to spotlight the hot dog's cultural and economic significance in the United States.
According to the NHDSC, major league ballparks in the United States alone sell around 20 million hot dogs annually.
The council noted that it is difficult to offer a single precise answer as to the number of hot dogs sold and consumed each year nationally, however, adding that one thing that is for sure is that the market is "more than a foot long."
