WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating an incident after they say a construction worker was assaulted while on the job by three men.
On July 15, around 3:40 p.m., officers say they were called to Carey Avenue and Horton Street for a report of a 26-year-old construction worker from Scranton who had been assaulted.

The victim told police that he was working near Lawrence Street when two women walked by him. The victim denied saying anything to the women, but a short time later, the women came back with three men.
Police say one suspect struck the construction worker with a pipe while another man punched him while holding a gun.
All of the suspects fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
