MOUNTAIN TOP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A community celebration in Mountain Top honoring four decades of childcare and a young girl's brave fight against cancer.
Families turned out at the Mountain Top Hose Company for food, crafts, and carnival games all to mark the 40th anniversary of "Mountain Top Kids."
Saturday was also about eleven-year-old Braelynn McCarroll, who's battling a rare form of brain cancer.
A portion of the event's profits will help her family cover medical expenses.

"Braelynn has been coming to us for a number of years so we've been side by side with her throughout this entire trial that she's been going through, and we're just there to help her in any way that she needs," expressed Vicky Bartolotta, owner, Mountain Top Kids.
The owner says they will consider doing it next year based on the community's response to the event in Mountain Top.
