EXETER, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A person was sent to the hospital after driving into a building along Wyoming Avenue Saturday morning, according to Wyoming Area Regional Police Department.
28/22 News found UGI crews on-scene around noon working to repair a gas pipe after a crash Saturday morning.
Wyoming Area Regional Police Chief Michael Turner says the driver struck a gas pipe causing a severe gas leak inside and around the building.
According to Chief Turner, crews were called just before 3:00 a.m. to the 1900 block of Wyoming Avenue for a report of car into building.
When on-scene police found Mazda SUV crashed into the side of a building shared by both Dollar General and Closet Clothes-Out.
Police say the driver suffered a diabetic attack causing them to lose control of the car.

A sign on the building also states that the businesses are currently shut down due to the crash affecting the gas service until UGI makes the necessary repairs.
