Celebrating milestone anniversary in Dickson City

DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local community is celebrating a milestone anniversary by giving back. Dickson City Borough teamed up with Crowned Loyalty Car Club on Sunday to hold a car show.

Nearly four dozen cars, trucks, and motorcycles were entered into this first-ever show.

Trophies were up for grabs, including best domestic, best foreign, and best of show.

Dickson City is celebrating its 150th anniversary, and proceeds will help a local food bank.

A man who lives in the borough explained why he wanted to bring the car show to his hometown.

"I have three cars of my own. I go to a lot of car shows here in the area, so I figured why not give a car show here where I live in Dickson City," Dickson City Car Show Co-Host Ryan Strony said.

"What makes it special to participate in any, really any car event is the fact of all the people, the good environment. It's just an environment that's like no other, like, it's always a great time," Car Show Participant Billy Hall told 28/22 News.

The car show raised roughly $500 for The Valley Village of Volunteers' food pantry in Lackawanna County.
