SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Scranton Police Department addressed a video circulating that shows an officer sleeping while on duty.
The Scranton Police Department says they are aware of a recently circulated video that appears to show one of their officers asleep in a marked patrol vehicle while on duty.
Husband accused of murdering wife has court appearance
The department stated the following regarding the video:
"Following a preliminary internal review, we have confirmed that the incident occurred and that the officer's conduct did not align with the standards of professionalism expected of our department."
Scranton police say the issue is being handled as an "internal personnel matter, with appropriate measures taken to ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents moving forward."
