APOLACON TWP., SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Swoyersville council member is being charged after state police say he vandalized a hunting cabin with a homophobic message.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, in April, troopers received a report of a hunting cabin being damaged. A member of the cabin claimed 48-year-old Adam Christian was banned from, and has since been returning and damaging, the property, PSP reported.
Video footage showed Christian spray painting a rainbow with a homophobic message, breaking locks, windows with a hammer, and breaking a chimney pipe coming from a wood stove inside the cabin, as stated in the release.

Adam Christian is a current Borough Council member in Swoyersville, and the town stated the following regarding his charges:
Swoyersville Borough Council is aware that criminal charges have been filed against an elected member of the council. The allegations made in the criminal complaint are serious and concerning; however, every person is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to do so as this case proceeds. Our commitment to conducting Swoyersville Borough’s public business remains steadfast, and we will not let this serve as a distraction to that important work."
