HARVEYS LAKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Some rain on Sunday didn't stop a fundraiser aimed at raising money and awareness toward fighting a devastating disease.
Dozens of people took part in the Third Annual Ride with the Clown Kid Bike Race at Harvey's Lake.
Bicyclists pedaled more than eight miles around the lake. The event also welcomed runners and walkers for the first time to cover a two-mile course.
All of the proceeds go to the Alzheimer's Association.

28/22's Brian Orbin organizes the ride. He lost a grandfather to Alzheimer's Disease and has a grandmother currently living with it.
"It just really puts a smile on my face to know the community cares. They support a cause like Alzheimer's, and they want to help me make a difference," Orbin explained.
"And not only about the money and the research, it's about the awareness. How many people didn't realize that one in six people pass away from this disease in America. It's not just an old people disease. It's a community disease, and it's just so great to see the community coming out and showing up for this event," Alzheimer's Association Development Manager Dick Smith told 28/22 News.
Sunday's bike ride raised roughly $2,000, and to date, it has taken in about $10,000 for the Alzheimer's Association.
