DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — New Electric Vehicle charging stations are now fully operational at a gas station in Dickson City. The "Re-chargery" stations at Sheetz are the first of its kind in our area.
They have faster-than-average charging times and a retro look.
They are part of the company IONNA's efforts to build a network of chargers coast to coast.
Owners of the gas station chain claim the look and location of these chargers help customers feel safer.

They say that Sheetz offers a great place to spend time while waiting for electric cars to charge.
"We're here to really solve charging in not just terms of reliability, but the experience. We believe that we deployed these charges and build this network out. It will help remove the obstacles in terms of getting folks to come in and adopt electric vehicles," IONNA CEO Seth Cutler said.
"We love the fact that we can bring to our electric vehicle customers that we can bring this offer because we certainly don't want them to pass up sheets because they don't have the ability to refuel their vehicle," President and CEO of SHEETZ Inc., Travis Sheetz, explained.
Store owner says the price at the electric pump is currently 35¢ per kilowatt hour, which is cheaper than most Electric Vehicle charging stations.
