Canadian wildfire smoke impacts portions of Pennsylvania

(WBRE/WYOU) — Canadian wildfire smoke will impact portions of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic for the early part of the week.

While nothing compared to the summer of 2023, wildfire smoke will create a hazy/smoky sky at times on Monday across northeast and central Pennsylvania.

Air quality alerts are in effect for areas mainly north of I-80 in Pennsylvania.

A code ORANGE alert has been issued. This means air pollution may affect sensitive groups such as children, the elderly, or anyone with respiratory issues.

Some smoke may linger into Tuesday before clearing out of the area by Wednesday.
