HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Local officials are celebrating a new company expanding in our area. The Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Sigler was in Hanover Township for the opening of Itoh Denki's USA.

The opening is an expansion of its current headquarters.
Officials at Itoh Denki say it will bring in 30 new jobs and support 50 existing positions.
"Projects like this create tax revenue so local governments can support their people. More jobs mean more opportunities for local workers. A stable career with a growing company like this means people in this region can plant their own roots, buy a house, provide for their families, which in turn, strengthens our economy and our communities," Sigler told 28/22 News.
The opening is part of the governor's 10-year plan to increase PA's economic development.
