BUTLER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) are investigating a reported stabbing early Monday morning in Butler Township.
Troopers say they were called to help Butler Township Police Department on a stabbing investigation near the area of Louis Circle just before 6:30 a.m. on Monday.
A 13-year-old boy is dead after he was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Hazleton following injuries suffered at the hands of his father, according to a release by PSP.
Missing fisherman’s body found near Susquehanna River
Through an investigation, state police say it was determined that 39-year-old Cesar Delgadillo, of Drums, caused injuries to the boy's head, chest, back, and hands over several hours and prevented him from leaving.
Troopers say Delgadillo has been taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide and other related offenses.
Delgadillo was arraigned by a Luzerne County Magistrate, had his bail denied, and is being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
State police and the Luzerne County District Attorney's Office is handling the investigation.
