Scranton police warn residents of new scam

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Scranton police are warning of a scam in the area.

The department says they have been getting several reports of phone calls claiming to be a Scranton officer and demanding money.

They want you to know no officer will ever request money electronically using things like phone calls, gift cards, or wire transfers.
