Tenor Health Foundation to purchase three Commonwealth Health medical facilities

(WBRE/WYOU) — A letter sent to employees reveals the intent to sign with Tenor Health Foundation for the sale of three major Commonwealth Health Facilities in Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.

According to the letter sent by Commonwealth Health to employees, the sale includes three major Commonwealth Health facilities — Regional Hospital of Scranton, Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, and Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.

This would include all of their related sites of care.

Tomi Galin, Executive Vice President for Community Health Systems, parent company of Commonwealth Health, said in a statement:

The letter states that the transaction was originally intended to include only the Scranton facilities, but it will now also include the Wilkes-Barre facilities.
