LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Multiple police units across Luzerne County collaborated in a DUI checkpoint enforcement over the weekend that resulted in six people facing various charges.
Courtdale Police, along with Fairview Township Police, Wright Township Police, Larksville Borough Police, Wilkes-Barre Township Police, and Jackson Twp Police, conducted a DUI checkpoint.
Arrest made after deadly Wilkes-Barre shooting
Police say between the DUI checkpoint on Friday in Courtdale and roving traffic enforcement patrols in Courtdale and Luzerne on Saturday, more than 350 cars were pulled over.
As a result, the following incidents were investigated:
One DUI
One drug investigation
Two underage drinking offenses
One wanted person arrested
One fraudulent document investigation
33 traffic citations were issued that included child safety restraint, driving DUI suspended, driving without a license, inspection, and speeding violations.
