BEAVER MEADOWS, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Equipping people with what they need to know about scams was the focus of a gathering in Beaver Meadows on Wednesday.
Experts spoke to seniors who are often the target of con artists.
They explained the latest scams that are circulating and gave tips on how to keep themselves safe.

"It's important that people find out as much information as they can or are aware of what's going on because once they are scammed out, money taken out of of bank accounts, sent to an offshore account, it's almost impossible for police to get it back," Representative Doyle Heffley stated.
"I think more people should attend events like this, no matter what age bracket you are--even though the young people are more technology savvy, it can still happen to them," Beaver Meadows resident David Budda told 28/22 News.
