(WBRE/WYOU) — An investigation is underway into threats made against Congressman Rob Bresnahan and his fiancée Chelsea Strub.
Those threats were made on their bridal registry, just two days before the couples' wedding on Saturday. The Capitol Police are investigating these threats. The couple says this is an example of how the political divide is impacting all walks of life in the country.

The threats included, "See you soon," signed by Luigi, a reference to Luigi Mangione who police say shot and killed the CEO of a healthcare company in New York City.
Another threat read, "Hope you sleep well on your honeymoon knowing your actions will kill people in NEPA, best wishes!
And yet another that read, "Matching luggage won't save you when it all burns."
"It's one thing for people to disagree politically with these positions may be on, but to involve the family, her sister, my sister, into the dialogue obviously escalates threats into potential levels of violence we've seen that with Governor Shapiro recently in Harrisburg. The boundaries are being crossed here. This is extremism, this is unchecked hatred, misinformed hatred, that's causing a blindness of the boundaries of human decency," Congressman Bresnahan said.
Governor Josh Shapiro was in Luzerne County Friday and commented on the threats made against Bresnahan and Strub, "I have not seen the specific threats, but let me just say this, first of all, I wish Rob and his fiancée the very best this weekend. Second, there is absolutely no place in our politics for this type of threat, political violence, or threats against someone, especially against their spouse or their family. That is not okay."
Congressman Bresnahan says extra security measures will be in place for the wedding.
