STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Monroe County fire department got some new wheels. The Stroudsburg Fire Department got a new Utility Terrain Vehicle on Tuesday afternoon.
They say the UTV will provide quicker access to homes and fires that are not easily accessible.
Crews also say this will help in the event of a wildfire.
The station's new ride was made possible thanks to a $74,000 grant and State Representative Tarah Probst, who was at the fire station for the unveiling.

"Monroe County and Pike County, it's all volunteer. So these men and women put their lives on the line daily for the betterment of their communities and to make their job easier, safer and to make your community safer, if they need a piece of apparatus or UTV or something you know for their department I'm gonna do everything I can to make sure I get it," Probst said.
At Tuesday's event, crews gave a demonstration on how the UTV works and why it will be such a valuable asset to the community.
