DALLAS, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — There is a new inclusive playground at Dallas Intermediate School. The Boundless Playground provides all types of children the opportunity to play with their friends and grow a community within the school.

State and federal grants were driving forces for the project to be completed for the start of the school year. The dallas township police department also made a large donation.

The long wait was worth it for the community in Dallas.

"Children who are not special, who do not have special needs, so they can come out and they can play together. That's why they call it an all-inclusive playground," Dallas Rotary Member Co-Chairman of Project Barbara Rinker told 28/22 News.

"In the next couple of weeks, there are going to be thousands of children playing on that equipment, and I couldn't be happier for that," Dallas Intermediate School Principal Thomas Traver said.

The playground took two years to complete.

Donations from local businesses and fundraising by the students and teachers at the school also helped pay for the playground.
