BEECH CREEK, CLINTON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is in custody after he allegedly fled from and fired at troopers Tuesday night.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were serving a warrant on a man identified a Brandon Bitner, at his home on the 2000 block of Eagle Valley Road in Bald Eagle Township just before 9:00 p.m..
Bitner fired a round with a shotgun towards troopers, then fled in his vehicle on PA-150, state police explained.
Crews monitoring oil spill in Lycoming County
Authorities say Bitner pulled into Lykens Market on Main Street in Beech Creek, then fired another round at state police.
After gunfire was exchanged between troopers and Bitner, troopers say Bitner was wounded but sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the gunshot.
No law enforcement or bystanders were hurt in the exchange. Per state police regulations, the troopers involved were placed on administrative leave.
Bitner will be charged with three counts of attempted criminal homicide of law enforcement officers and other related offenses.
Bitner was arraigned and denied bail on Thursday, August 21.
He will be held at the Clinton County Jail until his preliminary hearing on August 25.
