HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A massive number of kids enjoyed a day full of activities absolutely free for families. More than 2,000 children turned out for the Hazleton Area Children's Festival.
The event in Hazle Township featured games, crafts, and interactive exhibits like touch-a-trucks.
Organizers hoped to inspire young children and teens to demonstrate many opportunities available to them, while entertaining them, too. It certainly seems that the goal was met.

"Oh, we love it. We're having a blast. Honestly. There's so much free activities and even with the vendors and stuff for the food. It's awesome. You could spend hours here," Jerrica Spiker from Drums said.
"We never thought that it would get this big or as much community involvement as we do, but we're very thankful for that, so we love how big it got," Hazleton POWER! Organizer and Executive Director Lauren Sanzi stated.
Organizers say this Sixth Annual Hazleton Area Children's Festival was by far the biggest to date.
