WATCH: Broken valve gushes water in Luzerne County

DUPONT, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Crews are working to fix a broken water valve that gushed water into the street in Dupont Monday morning.

According to Pennsylvania American Water, crews are working to repair the eight-inch valve that broke near the intersection of Lincoln and Curtain streets. Approximately 30 customers are affected.

In a video sent to 28/22 News by Kelly Jordan-Warunek, water could be seen running for blocks from the site of the leak.

A representative from the water company says they expect service to be restored this evening.
