Alleged drug dealer charged, bust reveals several pounds of weed

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An alleged drug dealer has been arrested after police say a three-month investigation led to the discovery of several pounds of marijuana.

On August 28, the Hazleton Police Department Special Response Team executed a search and arrest warrant at a residence on Peace Street in Hazleton for 22-year-old Sanyel Calzado Berroa.

During the investigation, detectives stated they conducted several controlled buys of cocaine from Calzado Berroa. During a search of the home, several pounds of marijuana, packaging and processing materials, and additional cocaine were seized.

This arrest was a result of a three-month investigation as part of the Luzerne County Drug Task Force.

Calzado Berroa was charged with delivery of a controlled substance – cocaine, and criminal use of a communication facility – a cell phone used in the commission of a crime.  He was unable to post the $30,000 bail and remains at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
