(WBRE/WYOU)— The saga could be over as a spokesperson for Lackawanna County confirmed that they have appointed a new commissioner.
According to Lackawanna County spokesperson Patrick McKenna, the judges from the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas have appointed Democrat Brenda Sacco for the job as the third commissioner.
Scranton officials vote to declare special election
This has been a long-awaited decision since Matt McGloin resigned from the position back in February.
Sacco did previously work for the county as an economic development director.
