New stop signs to keep residents safe

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— In order to keep drivers and pedestrians safe, the city of Scranton is getting new high visibility stop signs.

The new stop signs feature red flashing led lights, and are all apart of Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti's plan to revitalize the downtown and keep it safe.

The Scranton Police Department is working with officials to have the new signs installed at high traffic intersections, and other area identified as historically high crash zones.
