(WBRE/WYOU)— Geisinger is recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day, it is a day to remember those who have passed because of an overdose.
Thursday, Geisinger representatives were at Lackawanna County Courthouse along with other treatment organizations to provide the community with Narcan.
They also helped to inform the community about where to get help for those with addictions.
"We can at least make connection with the community, get the medications to them and be part of what supports recovery. It's not only about when we have these overdoses, but how do we keep people engaged in recovery, helping one another, and that's what we're here doing today," stated Franca Dalibor, Substance Use Navigation Team Lead.
