Gunfire in Wilkes-Barre causes property damage in North End

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Multiple gunshots fired in a Wilkes-Barre neighborhood caused damage to several people's property.

On September 6, around 5:30 a.m., officers were called to the 400 block of North River Street for a report of gunshots being fired.

Once on the scene, the victim stated he heard five gunshots fired while he was inside a house, and when he left, he saw bullets had hit his vehicle several times, police reported.

Wilkes-Barre City Police stated a second victim was inside her home when she heard several gunshots being fired and later saw that her residence had been hit.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
