SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Lackawanna Coroner has identified the victim who was killed in what the district attorney called an inmate-on-inmate assault.
45-year-old Lackawanna County Prison inmate Michael Jones died as a result of blunt head trauma and his death has been ruled a homicide, according to the Lackawanna County Coroner.

Officials say the assault happened at the Lackawanna County Prison on Tuesday afternoon, around 12:30 p.m.
The coroner said Jones was a federal inmate being housed at the Lackawanna County Prison.
The Lackawanna District Attorney's office is investigating the death.
