SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Lackawanna County officials say a Lackawanna County man has been found guilty of the 2023 murder of a woman.
According to the Lackawanna County District Attorney's Office, a Lackawanna County jury found Donnell Brunson of Taylor guilty of the murder of Danielle Barbuti on Friday.
Authorities explain that Barbuti was found dead with blood all over the bedroom in her Scranton home in December 2023.

Brunson was the victim's boyfriend, and the Lackawanna County Attorney General called the crime an example of domestic violence.
"Murder trials are never won alone. The partnership between our prosecutors and law enforcement from investigation to the courtroom is the strongest it has ever been and it ensures success. This teamwork not only holds killers accountable but also strengthens community safety, sending a clear message: domestic abuse and violent crime will not be tolerated in Lackawanna County," the Attorney General's Office stated in a Facebook post about the verdict.
Officials say Brunson faces a mandatory life sentence for the crime.
