Man accused of assaulting teen he met to smoke weed

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old he met up with to smoke marijuana with, police say.

According to the Hazleton City Police, the Hazleton Area School District contacted officers regarding a 15-year-old being raped.

The victim claimed she met up with 25-year-old Bryan Ramirez, aka B-Roll, to smoke weed in his vehicle, police stated. Officers said Ramirez picked up the victim at a gas station near her home in Schuylkill County, then began to drive to Hazleton.

The victim questioned Ramirez, who said he needed to drive to his house. Then Ramirez expressed he wanted to have intercourse with the victim, but she said "she wasn't there for that and just wanted to smoke," as stated in the affidavit.

The two arrived in Hazleton at a residence on Vine Street, where the victim claims she and Ramirez smoked marijuana and then he sexually assaulted her, according to court documents.

At this time, Ramirez has been charged with statutory sexual assault and other related offenses.
