GREENFIELD TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A fiery scene in Lackawanna County, and a moment of bravery that may have saved a life.
Crews were called Tuesday night to Sandy Banks Road in Greenfield Township, authorities explained.
Officials say two passersby were the ones who spotted the house fire, got the resident to safety, and called 911 around 9:00 p.m.
Wanted suspect after home break-in leads to stolen car
Firefighters arrived within minutes to find flames pouring from both floors, prompting a second alarm and forcing them to fight the fire from the outside.
Crews were back on the scene just before 6:00 a.m. Wednesday morning after the fire rekindled.
No injuries were reported, and a cause is under investigation.
