HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are looking for a suspect who they say broke into a home, stole a car, and fled from officers.
The Hazleton City Police Department is searching for a man identified as 33-year-old Terrence Belt.
Police say on March 25, officers were called to the 480 block of West Mine Street, where a homeowner found a Belt inside their home.
Belt was chased out of the house, where Belt then fled on foot towards CVS. While officers were investigating the home break-in, they were called for a stolen car in the CVS parking lot.
Victims identified after Hazleton shooting
Police say when Belt fled from the home, he ran into the parking lot of CVS, found a gray 2012 Ford Fusion running with no one inside, entered the car, and left the area.
A warrant has been issued for Belt on the following charges:
Burglary with overnight accommodation
Criminal Trespass, entering into a structure
Theft by Unlawful Taking
Receiving Stolen Property
Anyone with information on Belts' whereabouts is asked not to approach him but to call 911 immediately.
