Luzerne County man sentenced for drug conspiracy

JENKINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Luzerne County man faces time in prison for drug conspiracy offenses.

38-year-old Ryan Medar of Jenkins Township was sentenced Wednesday to 134 months of imprisonment and four years of supervised release for distributing cocaine and over 50 grams of methamphetamine, according to a release from the Department of Justice.

Wanted suspect after home break-in leads to stolen car

Officials say Medar had previously pled guilty to conspiring with several co-defendants to distribute controlled substances between October 2023 and April 2024. During the investigation, law enforcement used an informant to purchase methamphetamine and a pistol from Medar.

Medar was sentenced for one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute.
