WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Visits to the dog kennels at the SPCA of Luzerne County are temporarily suspended due to an illness.
The SPCA announced on Friday that visits, meet-and-greets, and public interactions with the dog kennels would be suspended until further notice due to an upper respiratory illness spreading.

The organization says that their on-site veterinarian is providing the best care possible to the dogs and the shelter is following recommended protocols to protect the health of the animals and the public.
The shelter notes that visitation to the cat rooms and cat adoptions are not affected.
