Teenager's death ruled homicide, PSP investigating

PINE TOWNSHIP, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State Police are investigating the death of a teen in Columbia County after his death was ruled a homicide.

Officials say EMS was dispatched to a residence in Pine Township around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, where they found a boy deceased. State police and the Columbia County Coroner's office also responded to the home.

The deceased was identified as 17-year-old Carter Conklin of Millville, according to the Columbia County Coroner. An autopsy performed on Friday found the cause of death to be a single gunshot wound to the head. The time of death was determined to be 8:55 a.m. of that day.

No other information on the case will be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
